Les Jardins de la Baie de Somme

The Herbarium, an enclosure surrounded by flint and pebble walls, dominates the medieval ramparts of the city. On entering it we discover a formidable "orderly" clutter, gathering old medieval plants. A more botanical than ornamental garden that will appeal to both beginners and connoisseurs!
The Fruticetum offers a contemporary reading of the gardens of the Middle Ages. The blue color is a nod to the "Waide": precious dye plant in the Middle Ages.
The flowery streets of the town form, with the Herbarium and the Fruticetum "the gardens of the Bay", and make Saint-Valery-sur-Somme a peaceful invitation to stroll.
