Site de la Bataille de Crécy
The Battle of Crécy opposed from the middle of the afternoon of August 26, 1346 the army of the kingdom of France to an army that had come from England to sack and pillage the lands near the shores of the English Channel. This battle marked the beginning of the Hundred Years' War.
On this site, the French army of Philip VI of Valois was defeated by the troops of Edward III, King of England, on August 26, 1346. This date marked the beginning of the Hundred Years' War. Panoramic view from the wooden belvedere tower.
A garden of works has now been created: 6 steel sculptures representing the kings present at the battle (Edward III, Philip VI and John of Luxembourg).
Also worth seeing: the Bohemian Cross (on the D56 towards Fontaine-sur-Maye).
